The client came for an SEO consultation in February 2019. The website held top positions in its segment but started losing traffic.

Goals:

● Increase SEO traffic to the website;
● Increase the number of conversions.

What We Did:

The first thing we did was conduct a technical audit of the website using one of the SEO spiders:
● Identified errors
● Broken links
● Fixed redirects
● Found duplicate pages and worked on them

Development of the website structure:

● Gathered semantics
● For key areas of the website, we started creating detailed filtering and new landing pages with the aim of ranking for mid-tail and long-tail keywords

Link building

We purchased article links on a trusted link-building platform and actively engaged in outreach.

Killer Feature for Growth

We didn't give up and generated various hypotheses to break the niche into pieces recover the site's lost position.At that point, we realized that there were no websites with catalog pages for regions in the niche.
The client's entire semantic core was highly geo-dependent. Therefore, by creating commercial pages for each city in Ukraine, we could secure Top 1 rankings.
During the analysis, we realized that no one in our niche was doing this, and we could become pioneers. We created a separate copy of the website for each region. For example, for Vinnytsia, our homepage is - https://am.ua/vinnica/ and for Kharkiv, the homepage is - https://am.ua/harkov/. The entire catalog structure was duplicated. Here's the page for motorblocks in Vinnytsia: https://am.ua/vinnica/motobloki/ , and here’s the same motorblocks page for Kharkiv https://am.ua/harkov/motobloki. This strategy led to the website's rapid growth.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was indexing. Many pages were effectively duplicates. Here’s what we did in this regard:● Worked on interlinking● Made texts unique using templates● Created separate sitemaps

Results Over 9 Months

During the work on the website, we discovered a few more critical errors and fixed them. We implemented full microdata on the landing pages. However, all our efforts yielded little result, and the site continued to stagnate. Until January 2020, when growth began, which you can see in the screenshot below.
